What is Acupuncture?

For over 3,000 years, the Chinese have been mapping specific points on the body and studying the effects of these points to treat specific conditions. Acupuncture is the insertion of fine, solid body needles into these points.

Acupuncture manipulates the circulation of qi through the acupuncture channels. Qi is the Chinese term that describes functional energy in the body. Acupuncture channels are information networks that coordinate the workings of all of your bodily systems. Acupuncture aims to improve the connections between the body's internal systems, awakening your body's intelligence to heal itself. Modern science has confirmed that acupuncture improves circulation, balances the secretion of hormones and other chemicals, reduces inflammation and scar tissue, calms the nervous system and strengthens the immune system.
