For over 3,000 years, the Chinese have been mapping specific points on the body and studying the effects of these points to treat specific conditions. Acupuncture is the insertion of fine, solid body needles into these points.
Acupuncture manipulates the circulation of qi through the acupuncture channels. Qi is the Chinese term that describes functional energy in the body. Acupuncture channels are information networks
that coordinate the workings of all of your bodily systems. Acupuncture aims to improve the connections between the body's internal systems, awakening your body's intelligence to heal itself.
Modern science has confirmed that acupuncture improves circulation, balances the secretion of hormones and other chemicals, reduces inflammation and scar tissue, calms the nervous system and
strengthens the immune system.
Kristin uses a combination of Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture in her practice.
I am grateful to have the opportunity to tell anyone reading this about my experience with Kristin over the years. She is a skilled acupuncturist whose approach, always kind and compassionate, makes patients feel at ease and respected. She listens attentively, intuitively decides on a course of treatment, follows through with gentleness, listening and responding to feedback from her patients. She brings a deep knowledge and understanding of the human body and the very subtle signs indicating areas that are out of balance. She has successfully treated me for a variety of health difficulties, large and small. I have never been disappointed in the outcome of her treatments and am grateful to have such a competent, wise, and compassionate person supporting me in my quest to maintain and improve my health. -C.L.
